Helen C. Regenstreif has won many awards for her copper enamel paintings and has exhibited many places. Her copper enamel paintings are on permanent display at the Long Island Jewish Hospital, The Industrial Home For The Blind and St. Francis Hospital, among others. Besides copper enamel painting, Helen loves to create art utilizing the art of Sumi-E.

The art of Sumi-E was created in Japan and involves the use of watercolors and special Oriental brushes. Helen uses a variety of brushes to make different strokes.

Each painting is signed with a "chop"made of her name in red. A chop is a rubber seal encased in wood and handcut to express a name or design. For this purpose Helen changed her last name from Regenstreif (meaning rainstorm) to "Rainbow" or "Niji' in Japanese.

Her studies of Sumi-E art began in 1982 with florals on rice paper. As her style developed, Helen began making beautiful notecards with matching envelopes.

Each card is one of a kind. She has created cards for invitations - 15 to 50 cards per order. Helen's clients are from all around the US. Price is $10 per card including shipping within the US.

Orders for invitations and bulk orders will be quoted upon request. For more information e-mail Helen at:

People say her cards are so pretty they'd rather frame them than send them.
